Tutorial: how to change your router settings

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to change your router settings. Mainly about changing your password and ssid. You will need a router, DUH!, and a computer that is connected to the router either buy an ethernet cable or wirelessly, you however do not need internet connection, without out internet connection you will still be able to change settings and share files from one pc to another you just have to have the computers connected to the same router, oh and you wont be able to go online with anything.

Ok guys, like I have belkin, What u do u type in cmd ipconfig/ and then get your mask ip addres of whatever. Then type that in the addres bar. Find like for me, i have a more expensive more Advanced Router. So i would click Lan Settings. Then it says IP ADDRES right there. Well all u do it change that to what ever u want. Click save changes. And then if ur banned on a webiste....Like i was, It will unban you! (NOTE: Only if they banned your ip addres on the router, Not the computer.) There u go.

Hey, when i type in my default gateway in the adress bar on browser, it doesnt open anything and it says unable to help. Do you what the problem is?

@dkdragan are you sure u typed it correctly, you have to have all the dots and everything, if it still doesnt work try your ip address minus tha last two numbers.

I messed with it Q_Q now i cant connect anything to that router, i tried to get my new android phone to connect to it because the router I have was appearing invisible to it and I thought changing the settings would help.

i have a router called: SMCD3GN Home Networking Gateway by rogers, i pay my own internet and my parents steal my internet while im at work because they know my password, i know my password but dont know the username so i dont know how to change it can you help please?
