@kpreston69 So according to your logic, even when the United States manufactured everything(we are still #1 but back when there was no competition), states that had almost no manufacturing(Vermont? - Hawaii?) had no jobs?

Cheaper goods allow our consumers to have more money to spend on other things. Trying to be protectionist and putting 50% tariffs to prevent goods being made in other country's would be a direct tax on the consumers and would have other countrys doing it to us.

@Yoddlay you forget that if China makes everything and sells it cheaper then what do we do other than spend? No job then we can no longer spend. After manufacturing then what other job is there? MacDonalds? Then it's professional jobs like Doctor for those who can afford to pay for school. Get that! PAY for school as in who takes over after your old? Dumb people who could not afford an education. Of course they can always just email a diagnosis to an Indian doctor for pennies.

@kpreston69 Right now, there is enough supply to meet the demand. When the demand is more than the supply, oil will rise(currently oil isn't rising, the dollar is just decreasing). When the demand is more than the supply, prices will rise and there will be a bigger market for an alternative energy.

Let china subsidize there manufacturing, gives us cheaper goods at China's expense. Cheaper goods means more money for the consumer to spend on other goods. +Life.

Free Market = wins.

They will NEVER win when Oil companies are the competition when the reality is when Oil abruptly runs out then your are fucked. They should be working on this technology and be immune to failure because the alternative of chaos when the electricity is shut off is worse.

China's Government subsidizes their R&D and manufacturing so US markets will never be able to win. Capitalism and free markets don't work anymore, WE ARE AT WAR WITH CHINA YOU DOPES! They will win because we are WEAK!
