@countscoopula This whole album is killer!! But i agree the song is trippy

This was the last record I played for myself in the last century (New Years Eve 1999).
It just seemed the right bit of music to play.......fantastic.
-
this song is the best song ever while very high on anything period, fucking mystical beyond belief
-
Still brilliant....

Any acousticians out there that can weigh in on what that "croaking" sound might be? It sounds like a bass guitar being manipulated one way or another through the nascent now ancient technology of that musical era.
-
@pdorn777 Wow! Thanks for the info, I was misinformed. A VERY cool solo.
-
@dirtymeansteve I hear you...no-one at the time could believe that George Harrison played that solo, since he wasn't considered to really have his chops together yet. That said, I double-checked officially released session/studio notes available from various sources and indeed, it was Mr. Harrison himself who played that killer solo on "Taxman". McCartney & Lennon did backing vocals, with the former on bass and the latter on tambourine.

@PatOShea And you would be correct!

What's that crazy croaking sound? It's not on the album version, is it? Whatever it is, it takes it to another level.
-
@pdorn777 Pretty sure McCartney played that solo.
I always thought the music at Monterey was better than Woodstock.
