I am glad that tinny voice is off the air!
He brought us bad news,like tragic car accidents!
He always had that super-serious monotone voice which
scared me as a child and disillusioned me as an adult!

1992, aggregation brings NBN to the Gold Coast and like Peter Overton, as a young child on holidays, I was impressed to see such a quality newsreader on a regional television station.
Later I would learn that Ray was not the only staffer with such a high calibre of news aptitude, there was and is a whole team who compile a bulletin every night of every week that is without peer.
I feel privileged to be able to watch such a quality production, quality that is enduring, rare in the TV world.
