Artist Alfonso Sabelli created an evening Saturday, April 16th 1988. 40 artists were invited to paint the same 42" x 42" copy of Marilyn. They were provided with the paints and brushes. Throughout the evening as pieces were finished he taped them together in rows of 1o and kept on raising them until the entire stage was a wall of Marilyns. Marilyn or Andy lookalikes were let in free. It was one hell of an evening. He also did two of his Polaroid pieces at the same time. He was larger than life.
