  • Just a big turn out of hipsters trying to look cool. I doubt half of them had any real reason to be there.

  • you got the "big turnout" part right.

  • Sheeple are so fucking stupid it hurts. The video entitled "Fascists Love Ineffective Protests" is an a propos reponse to this bit of socially engineered farce. There will only be real change when the trivial slogans and placards are replaced with AK-47s, and someone shouts through a megaphone: "This is what a republic looks like!"

  • @GringoHonky72 Great job with the rhetoric, champ. A group with a "finite view/opinion" with an "unclear message", displaying concerns over a wide range of topics. This makes no sense at all.

This is called "civil society". People are taking to the streets to participate in the dialogue and community building they have been denied for so long. Just because you are confused, don't slander the people involved.

  • This is not Democracy. You all are a Minority of people with a "finite" view/opinion. Only issue that your message is unclear. Many of you don't even know what you're there for. People chanting about Democracy, and then a sign to ban Smart Meters?

  • @doctorfuse007 Hey man- its just what it looked like when I was there. I was pretty excited about the movement until I got there and it was more about people taking pictures in front of the parliament building in their hipster gear then it was about Canada's issues. I went to Centennial Square after and I was pretty sad at what I saw. I decided if I wanted any real change in the world I was just going to have do things myself so I signed up to canvass for WWF instead.

  • @hatedrain, why the need to disparage? These folks got off their asses to be part of a process of recovery - the recovery of our commons, both material and $peculative. Your cynicism on such a splendid display saddens me.
