2008 was a wonderful year in film, unlike 2009, with a limited amount of Oscar worthy movies or performances.

Notice how for Best Actress, they list the wrong film for Kate Winslet.

People who are serious about the art of filmmaking and people inside the film world care about the Oscars. They have lives don't they, better lives than you or me.

Accurate predix! I really think Mickey deserved it, though. Usually I'm a fan of the more transformative performances, but this time I think Mickey had more to work with and a gave an honest, heartfelt, and physically demanding performance. Penn was hammy & I Am Sam-like imo.
And I think Cruz definitely deserved it - she was spectacular and Davis was merely fine in a brief role that really just highlighted the strong script of Doubt. Cruz was funny *and* dramatic - more electric than Davis.
