Here is some fuel for the debate...I don't actually agree with this quote, nonetheless below is a quote from Dutrow after the Haskell:

Curlin couldn't win the Derby, we could," Dutrow said. "Curlin couldn't win this race, we could. Curlin got beat [by] a filly. We haven't. Our horse is undefeated on the grass. Curlin isn't. I don't know why people think Curlin is such a good horse. We're way better than Curlin."

Dutrow is pitiful. Curlin is way better than BB. He faced tougher competition.

Curlin is better then street sense street sense won the Kentucky derby but Preakness lose again curlin by a nose but then in the third leg in curlin get second and street sense don't even hit the board and also check all the races they run again each other street sense only beat curlin one time and is all check it out

@steel966 while Curlin is the all time highest earner Secretariat won all 3 of triple crown and blew th field away with style the best horse since secretariat is Zenyatta competition for secretariat Cigar or Skip Away

@horseracergirl Actually Curlin finished third in the Derby and had an absolutely nightmarish trip. The fact that he finished that well while being so inexperienced is amazing.

...and to those who say it was just because of the slop that Curlin won, think again. Hard Spun ran a terrific race to finished second behind Curlin in the Classic after defeating Street Sense in their final Breeders' Cup prep. Both Curlin and Hard Spun finished where they deserved in the Classic and there was nothing "false" about it. All three exceptional horses!

I think Curlin was much better than Street Sense. You have to remember that Street Sense had a fantastic 2-year-old foundation to fall back on and Curlin only began his career in Feb, just months before the Triple Crown. Winning the Preakness (equaling the fastest time ever) in his 4th start is astounding, especially after getting passed and regaining the lead from his far more experienced rival. He also completely demolished Street Sense in the Breeders' Cup Classic...

@apachespook71 street sense IS better than curlin, didn't you watch the derby? curlin came in 4th! street sense won! and street sense only lost by a nose in the preakness, seriously get your brain checked.
