Global Demonstrations for Tibetan Freedom
Chinese Consulate, New York City

In 1989, the Chinese Government crushed a student pro-democracy movement in the most hideous way thinkable. Thousands of China's best and brightest intellects were doused with gasoline and set on fire, and then driven over with tanks. Remaining, if any, survivors, were sentenced to long prison terms—and still are incarcerated nearly twenty years later. Listen to a Tiananmen Square protestor who made it out alive, and now works in the Western world to promote human rights and freedom of expression in both China and Tibet. One world-one dream-wake up China.
