General VK Singh has become the first serving Army chief to take the government to court. He hopes to establish that he is correct in claiming that he was born in 1951, not 1950. While the General says it's a battle about his honour and integrity, his critics say he is putting self before service. The matter will likely be taken up by the Supreme Court on February 3.
