@ElboTheHedgehog 1051 is not a copy, it's a real Tucker. It was built with a real tucker body, a real tucker engine, it has a real tucker dash and interior. It wasn't completed at the factory but that doesn't make it a "copy"..
I assume you are getting your information from "Plancor 792" the grouchy 80 year old over at TACA who is the world's greatest Tucker Expert. He may very well be. But 1051 is a Tucker, and the Convert is also a Tucker, not that "Convertible Contraption"

@NewDirection4us Shortsighted GM and Chrysler management in the 70's and 80's hurt GM and Chrysler and opened the door to the Japanese automakers. I know because I bought a brand new Chevy Vega in '74 and never bought another GM product since. I had a used Dodge Dart at one time, too. Not impressed.

The 1988 film "Tucker: The Man and His Dream" appeared at the 40th anniversary of this car, at a time Japanese cars were seriously flooding the US market. During the same period (late 1980s) Detroit-made vehicles had developed a bad reputation for shabby craftsmanship, gas-guzzling and unreliability.
Considering the American automobile industry ("bailouts" of corporations supposedly "too big to fail"), Tucker's warnings in the trial here were certainly prophetic.
Compare "The Aviator."
