  • yeah it is quiet. That big box in the centre is an external hydraulic pump. If I'm not wrong, the aircraft's electric pump that is usually used during maintenance with the engines off is not strong enough to retract the landing gear, even though it supplies 3000PSI. I might be wrong though. Ohh btw, the landing gear can be deployed using gravity too ;)

  • Quiet and fast

  • It sure isn't quiet in flight. Sounds like a a car hitting a steal garage door :)

  • Thats an extension test, not a retraction

  • @pierredz you are right , the yellow elec pump is too weak for extraction and retraction of landing gear. In this case an external hydraulic rig is connected which itself is an independent hydraulic system which pumps in hyd fluid at sys press and is returned back as well. If I am not wrong , the ext rig is connected to the GREEN sys servicing panel.

Also its not a gravity extension , if it were then wheel doors would have remained open but in this case it closes because there is pressure.

  • cooool where is that!

  • Any Video of the Retraction.
