ROANOKE HAS A LOT OF STOP SIGNS IN MOST REDICULIOUS PLACES. GET A LIFE...

What they're doing is a a common mistake referred to as a "rolling stop". Rolling stops are typically caused by laziness and a casual disregard for safety. Sparkie951 is absolutely right, what's going on is illegal.

I c ur concern, if they're not speedin, a yield sign is needed. Today I got a tix for goin around a stopped vehicle on the left. Rt of the vehicle was impossible. As I passed the driver, though he signalled lf, went rt. I got the tix. No double line on the street and w/o a hammer officer proceeded to hav the trial during my stop. Its the same kid of intrusive behavior by police in Roanoke NW. Yet I get my vehilcle stolen and broken into and tools stolen. The profiling isnt working.

@NightlightFilms09 No I am not elderly. Yielding for a stop sign has never been legal in the state of VA. You must come to a Full and Complete Stop before proceeding. None of them did that They all slowed down, but NONE stopped. It just irritates me that a stop sign is there and does not need to be. My biggest point is to get rid of it. The cops even run it (state police as well as the locals). Make it a yield. That is what it should be.

@sparkie951 they legally stop nothing wrong what so ever... your an elder person arent you?

@NightlightFilms09 Not denying that at all, but for a legal stop sign there has never been a ticket here! A few officiers could really rack up some tickets here. Would be easier pickins than fishing in an overstocked fish tank.

@studfever The sign was that way a minimum of 3 years, and still today 1 in 10 people stop for it... That includes the police as well (with lights off). If they are truly on emergencies, then our neighborhood needs alot of help.
they all stoped

@NightlightFilms09 None of them stopped. They slowed down for most, but the wheels need to be stopped completly. Anything less is simply a yield.
