When i cover a song i try to put my own twist on it and thats just what homme did... Not only did homme not do it in the same tuning he transcribed the chords lmao... so yeah when u change the tuning and the chords you need to riff different... Hey no this dude is a moron... And Smith is my fav.. I know how to play about 50 of his songs...
