Zola goes to Church, "Only You" Zola Taylor's Platters group featuring Elmer Hopper on lead. Elmer Hopper never became a member of Zola's group this was a one time fill in performance. Hopper was sued by Martha Robi widow of Paul Robi (original baritone) for unfair competition and more charges, all for helping Zola in this troubled time. Although Hopper was sued he still never regretted helping Ms. Taylor because on the on going friendship Zola & Paul had throughout the years after parting ways for both members Platters days
Zola's regular lead vocalist, Adrian Pepo, didn't have your range. It's unusual to hear you singing these songs in lowered keys (obviously the keys her group had them rehearsed in), since you have the same vocal range as Tony Williams did. I saw Zola's group in San Jose California, once, and was disappointed in the lead singer. He couldn't touch your pipes!

@bobbilse Thank you, what a nice comment and compliment. Hearing my name in any phrase with Tony Williams is the ultimate compliment. Tony was the hit machine for the Platters. I followed his career, listened to everything I could be him over the years and I'm convince that without Tony there would be no Platters as we all knew them. Adrian was a really nice guy, actually it was because I knew him that I chose to risk being sued to help him and Zola with that one show. Thank you

@bobbilse Sorry I ran out of characters, But I wanted to say that it truly was a pleasure doing that show with Zola and for Adrian. I did cost me a serious fear concerning being sued. But it taught me a very valuable lesson in life about being a person that wants to help someone because you care. There's a horrible bunch of people out there in the music that would lie to God about being a real Platter. see my book soon!
