Fortune Lake is now a tranquil sheet of water beside the parkway in Gatineau Park which feeds the snow making machines at Camp Fortune ski hill. But 50 years ago or so it was at risk of being drained and turned into an open pit mine. Find out what lies beneath the waters and also why you should pack in your own drinks when you hike or ski in the area.
