The Nagamine Project
The Nagamine Project tells the story of the extraordinary life of an ordinary man, Akira Nagamine of Watsonville, CA. Linking the modern histories of Japan, China and the United States, it is a saga of survival through war, revolution and trans-Pacific migration. Centered on an eight-year ordeal in post-WWII Manchuria, followed by years of toil in California, Nagamine's story includes a vivid cast of characters, including a former Japanese secret agent, White Russians on the run from Stalin, kindly Korean farmers, Chinese lumberjacks, lynch mobs, revolutionaries and saviors, migrant field hands from Mexico and the Philippines and American entrepreneurs willing to give a man a chance.
