- Episode 31-
Demi: (smiles back at him)
Joe: when you need a laugh and a little goof. You have your bestfriend. But when you need your love and cuddles you have your girlfriend. It's a two in one thing (chuckles)
I: awww. That's so cute. So Joseph. Who is your bestfriend?
Joe: (puts his arm around Demi giving her a quick side hug) meet my bestfriend people!
Demi: (blushes and pulls away)
I: (smiles at them)
*a few hours later*
Demi: (watching youtube videos on the laptop)
Video:
Joe: ive always had a dream of going to Africa and meeting the people. The culture. It all just amazes me. travelling to get here was tiring. As much as we slept, there was alot of flying. I flew from LA to London. From London to cape town. From cape town to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg i took a little plane ride to Botswana so it was definitely tiring. But the experience was amazing.
I really love it here. I feel so. . . at home and at peace. There's no cell phone, no televisions, no computers, we can't get internet service. We're definitely in the bush of Africa. Intense.
The children of Africa are beautiful kids. I feel so blessed that i get the chance to know them and being able to speak to the children in lots of different school here in Botswana.
(showing a clip of what he said)
Joe: hey guys! How you guys doing (shaking everyone's hand)
I was talking to the kids and telling them that they can really do anything they wana do
Joe: you're all very talented in different ways (walking with the microphone in his hand) you wana be a football star. You wana be a musician. You can do that. If you put your hearts to it you guys can do great things here (shows a clip of his hugging some kids) i wana sing a song for you guys is that okay? (smiles hearing them scream) alright. You're the voice i hear inside my head. The reason that im singing i need to find you (touches his heart smiling) i gotta find you (continues playing song)
Joe: you guys are the new generation of kids and you guys are gonna be able to change the world. (smiles) because i believe in you and you guys should too. Now how about we go play some basketball or soccer?! (children scream) YYEEAH! (shows them playing)
Joe: learnt some new skills playing soccer with the kids. It was amazing. Those kids have so much potential even though they have very little. It makes me think how much we take for granted in todays world
Joe: (holding a baby girl) say hello to the world. (picks up her hand and waves) that's your world there babygirl (points) say hi (baby giggles. He smiles and kisses her forehead)
Joe: the feeling you get when you see those kids smiling and dancing. It's powerful stuff. I just sit back and think wow. This is life changing. I did some humanities work. It makes you feel so good. Shows you the upstanding of life and what you have. We went to a small village and gave out loads of blankets cuz its gets pretty cold at night. I just think they have a different way of life here than kids in America. I mean they have so much whether it's watching television or given nice clothing but here they don't' have alot so they really appreciate what they have and it makes me think alot about how much ive been blessed with in my life and some things are not even worth thinking about because there are so many other big issues and bigger deals that we have to try and help with in the world. That's why i try and encourage alot of people to go out and do things. There's an importance of charity but i think there's an importance of 'hands on work' that i think you could do yourself. (shows more pics of him surrounding of kids)
When i think of Africa i think of the faces and the kids and how they bring so much joy to me. im gonna be leaving feeling really encouraged. Their smiles encourage me. those kids really just love and that's all they know how to do. I want to be able to leave here with kinda the same amount of love that those kids gave to me and be able to share it with the world
End of video
Demi: (smiling with tears falling down her cheek. She felt so overwhelmed by the work he had done and how much he had done to help the world. He'd always been misunderstood and the bad boy when in actual fact there was more to him than meets the eye. She wiped her tears as she replayed the video. Hearing him talk about the kids and seeing how touched he was made a lump in her throat. She loved him alot more now than she though she ever could.)
