Earth was formed in the early 90's by Sergio Ruiz on drums, Jim Jensen on vocals and myself Phil Trujeque on guitar. We weren't a "tribute" band mind you; we were just friends who loved playing Sabbath. As you'll hear from the recording, the 1/4" master tape was left in Sergio's truck for a good 20 years or so however, I was recently able to wipe off the spilled beer and THC residue. Unfortunately, you'll hear dead spots in certain sections of the recording.

This show was recorded at "The Rock" in Los Angeles in 1992 or 1993. Since we could care less about sound checks, we showed up about an hour before showtime, and hung around out back in the parking lot indulging in some fine Kind, pounding our Mickey's 40's and polishing off a bottle of Tequila, in true Rock 'n' Roll fashion!

Ahh, good times!

  • @TheVVrit --- Dude, good job. I saw you had other Sabbath tunes as well. I'll be checking those out too!

  • @pizzacrime - dude!!! Thanks man, you're giving me an ego! Thanks again for the props, I appreciate it! I think back then I was using a Boogie Mk III with my Ibanez Artist and 86 SG. I may have had a Tube Screamer or a DOD 250 in between - don't remember, but yeah man, those were fun times. Hit me up through email - tell me where you are in your playing and I'll see if I can offer some decent advice!

  • sounds awesome man, you are just missing the jaw harp in the Sleeping Village intro haha

  • very cool, nice guitar work. well done all around.

you playing an sg? or what?

  • your guitar really makes me speechless dude...\m/!!

  • @pizzacrime: Dude, you hit the nail on the head! I'm so right there with you on that! It's a total appreciation of the magic that must have happened when it *originally* went down, and for some freaky reason, we (I personally) really dig finding that moment --- it's a cool feeling *during* the song, up until the very last beat of the song! Again, thanks for the cool words brother! I have an old story about your screen name too!

  • @pizzacrime: Hey man, thanks for the cool compliment, I really appreciate it! Very cool thing to say!

  • @7fires7trumpets: Thanks, I kinda didn't wanna use the original artwork - *just* to play it safe.
