This is my entry for the 2009 Wiscontrepreneur 100-hour Challenge! It is obviously a "rough and ready" setup, but given enough time and the right materials this could be made to work very well. I think it works great for using $6.00 worth of SWAP stuff.

Possible uses: as everyday use, the power generated here could be applied to charging cell phones, iPods, flashlights (leds), any small portable device really. Another option would be to attach the leads to a battery pack or capacitor of some kind to store up the power and use it later as a higher voltage/amperage.
This is a great example of renewable energy. Using the physical work that we all do every day of our lives to power our electronic devices.
