Very simple, Daughtry was out because three guys split the women vote. It was actually a great season. And in most cases it's best not to win but especially with Daughtry. Who wants some studio exec deciding whats best for your career?

Well... He went home, back to the place where he belongs. Where love's always been enough for him. He's not running from, we've got it all wrong. He doesn't regret the life he chose. But these face and this place are getting old, so he is going home.

See? This is what happens when you don't vote. Chris is now the third most successful American Idol and he is the most successful non-winner or non runner-up. He is also the most successful from Season 5. Who won again??

Think about it guys, it's a good thing he got voted off. If he won they would have him signing THEIR contract and singing THEIR songs. You know who won this year? Taylor. How much have you heard from him? Not much. Daughtry is HUGE, and he gets to keep his own style, writes his own songs, performs with his own band.
Imagine if he won. He'd be where Taylor is.
