How do you use this material and still keep the project cost-effective? It seems like the landscape fabric will take quite a bit out of the benefit of the vegetables.

@deathmarch5 Good to know...I have started incorporating them in my garden now, although not quite as large. My plants seem to be flourishing more as a result. Thanks for the insight!

@scarcherpilot Always use the plant beds deep and wide.This is always a must for the roots to flourish so It can support a larger plant as well as keep more air in the soils and moisture in there too. Imagine a house planting a small pot do you think it will keep growing larger? that is also another good point.

@DEANWARREN43 It has seen its better days almost time for a new one now. Not sure wear you live but during summer months tractor supply company sell decorative ones. They also have a web site.

Wow, nice garden plot. May I ask why your hills are so large? Perhaps most people do it this way, but to me, a novice, they seem much larger than others I have seen.

It makes it easier to harvest, I dont have to bend down as far. Also this way I know I am not walking on any of the growing surface which helps so it doesnt pack down. I can get away with only rototilling every 2 years this way. The ground stays soft.

i dig out the isles and ad that dirt to my rows. i dig the isle out till the dirt gets hard to dig. proubly about a foot to 18 inches or so.
