@PeaceTrainHati: Cordoba Mosque??? Are u forgetting that before it was converted into a Mosque IT WAS A CHRISTIAN CATHEDRAL FIRST??? Don't u ever post DIRTY IGNORANCE AND MISINFORMATION unless you are SURE OF WHAT YOU'RE WRITING. That's my ADVICE, I PREACH WITH THE EXAMPLE. Take care.
@PeaceTrainHati You started it and tried to bring it on literature level. I could bomb you, if you would be willing to read it all :)
Just the thing is 1. The first attack were ON christians, not by, and it stayed that way till the first COUNTERattacks by the Asturians and the REconquista. After that point, your right.
So thx for your wishes and have a good live and good reading :)
@TibGabinius It was medieval indeed - here is where I agree with you. Everyone attacked and was attacked and it was the usual way. Anyway, I don't have time for such fruitless debates. Peace and all the best! :)
@PeaceTrainHati And pls, dont break it down to confessional differences, that would bring us to Sunnits and Shiits as well.
And i don't say that religion wasn't a motivation, i dont say that it wasnt bloody and violent. But, as i said, that was medieval, and in Detail, you didn't said same things about the attack of the muslims on spain and dinÄt recognized i showing a difference to modern times. We learned. And yes, i have my view. Judged, not prejudged.
@PeaceTrainHati The reconquista started already in the 8th century by the Defense of the Lords of Asturia and the recapturing of Galicia. So it is, indeed, a reconquista. The Goths, who were defetead by the Muslims, were christians and through the centuries, many inhabitants of the muslimic spain tried to get the land back, others became christian martyr by following openly their faith. Its not just the 15 th century, like you seem to believe.
And brutal werent all of them. watch?v=RRbBI69h5tE
@TibGabinius Secondly, I see from your channel you have your own view about Islam but try to be a little more fair. It is very simplistic to call Christians' motivation nonreligious having in mind the fanaticism of the Catholics in those days and always to blame Islam which by the way is too diverse for everything Muslims did. As to what the British and French did... they did very very bad with the Arab world...you only need to read some history book.
I see you underline the Re in the Reconquista and it is in some way very strange - this word. Think about it. Seven centuries Muslims ruled this land and then the Catholics came and called the brutal expulsion of the Muslims Reconquest. Catholics never really ruled this land before Muslims conquered it. It was a home of Christians with what we call nowadays heretical beliefs like Arianism and a lot of Jewish people.
@PeaceTrainHati I hope you keep right, but i don't believe it. It's to obvious.
And yes, in the reconquista many Mosques were turned to churches, like while the crusades, but even while Empires ruled the world and the important parts of the islamic world, none of their important or "holy places" were turned. Brits didn't turned the al-Aqusa Mosque, theres a large number of Mosques in India and so on.
And remember, the REconquista had another motivation than e.g. Fatih.
so beautiful and so many stories behind the building..enchanting
