A short vide on on how to trigger a traffic light on your bike, using the power of metal and "inductive loop detectors!". For more info check out http://www.GOrtrip.com and http://www.efocusonredmond.com/.

  • Very informative video. My bike is Carbon Fiber though....

  • Actually, we've tested our loop detectors, and they will detect a carbon fiber bike. There is often enough metal in the wheel and other components to trigger the detector if properly positioned.

  • in the place where I live in, we don't have these sensors, its all about timing :)

  • Cool idea. This will never happen where I live. The crosswalk button is effective only at intersections that have this. Other than that I usually have to just wait for a car to pull up and then I go as soon as it turns green.

  • This is a very good video. I also am familiar with how these detectors work. The ones in NC are much better for bicycles than the circle design in this video. The most common around here are quadrupole designs (figure-8 on it's side) and I usually have no problem with them. The most common problem I see with traffic lights is that their sensors are not adjusted high enough to detect bicycles and motorcycles.

  • Some inductive loop detectors are not so sensitive, so the cornes or lines will not help. I know one company wich makes good one. Just look at green,cz

  • I'm gonna try this next time I'm at a stop light and see if it works. I hope it does.

  • lol that guy looked soo happy at the end :D

  • you can worry about positioning your bike in just the right spot in the road...or just hit the magical button! lmao!

  • i tried this it just dont work perhaps i should take a picture so you can show me where mostly to go left center or right of the look
