@doppen99 RAV4's 4x4 is always on, managed by traction control system, transferring torque between 4 wheels. It has a 4WD Lock button, which completely locks the center coupling, but it's not much necessary as the computer controlled system locks it instantaneously as required. Plus, the system always locks the center coupling during initial acceleration without the need to push the button. I don't bother manually locking the center unless the terrain is too rough and steep.
was it set on the 4x4? or was it off?
