Sights and sounds from a early spring sunrise on Winyah Bay, near Georgetown, on the South Carolina coast (USA). Hear common song birds like the Northern Cardinal (Redbird) and Carolina Wren, as well as a loud group of chattering red winged black birds (photography Hunter Desportes).

  • The vid is gr8 but they are not blackbirds... if they are blackbirds, well... the European ones sing better... try and listen...

  • Glad you think the vid's gr8. And you are right, these are not the same species as the european black bird. The two species just share a similar common name. These black birds are often called by their more colorful name of "red winged black bird" (Agelaius phoeniceus).

  • this is awsome.......

  • I watched this video with my window open and wasn't able to distinguish the video from the birds outside, since I'm in SC as well.

  • This reminds me of mornings I spent with my Dad (who was from Georgetown) before he passed in January. Thanks.

  • @Howage1 it's pretty cool isn't it!! we get stuck at the railway crossing quite a lot. on one side is a beautiful river and the other, the blackbird!! we always have to leave early to go places as sometimes we are there for 15 minutes as two or three trains might need to go through. i don't mind though. i like trains.

  • Nice video.

  • @lillith886, wow, never heard that before. Black birds (including Crows and Ravens) can be taught to talk as well.

    Ohkwa:ri'

  • @Howage1 there's one near our local railway station who mimics the train aproaching warning signal. so cool!!!

  • I love early morning--the sounds are so beautiful..

    very nice ...

  • Truly beautiful to hear the singing of the birds

    Thank you for sharing

  • The language of the Blackbird is vast, and beautiful.
