If you would take a look at the crowd there and the overall situation of African Americans nationwide, it'd be pretty ignorant to ignore the fact that what you stated is true for a HUGE amount of them. "African Americans," in general, are more "mixed" than what many Africans would consider "Black." His situation of parents of different races represents the situation for millions of Americans.
