The iD Dunedin Fashion Week is a not-for-profit event and is now in its 12th year, and due to popular demand it is now held over two nights at the Dunedin Railway Station attracting 1600 people each night. An outstanding line-up of new, emerging and high-profile New Zealand fashion designers thrilled audiences in the twelfth annual iD Dunedin Fashion Show held in Dunedin on Friday 8 April and Saturday 9 April 2011. Unprecedented demand from designers within New Zealand to showcase their collections will saw sixteen labels from established and emerging fashion designers take part in two popular iD Fashion Show events. The shows took place on the platform of the Dunedin Railway Station, famous for the 110m-long catwalk and culminated a series of exciting fashion events for the 2011 iD Dunedin Fashion Week. Special guests in 2011 included Australian designer Akira Isogawa and NZ designer Liz Mitchell as well as well known vintage fashion curator of the Darnell Collection, Charlotte Smith. Dunedin stalwarts of design Nom*D, Tanya Carlson, Mild Red and Charmaine Reveley showed alongside up and coming labels such as Maaike and Lela Jacobs.
