Ok...I have almost $1,000.00 I've been saving up for a Pleo...I just have one question. How loud are the gears?

Since they sell between 249 and 359 you cab get a pleo and have alot left over. As for the gears the sound is not that bad it is not that loud. The only question is will you play with it for more then 1 hour. Pleo is no Aibo.

good question, it is hard to say. If your a Aibo owner and looking for Pleo to be somewhat similar then No, Pleo is more of a toy that is fun when it is new but does get very boring after a few hours of use.
