  • cant u just use food coloring?

  • Food coloring is not color or UV stable and fades over time. Salt is, by nature, corrosive and will breakdown food coloring quite rapidly. Using dyes make specifically for salts is recommended.

  • why are you wearing gloves?

  • It's a good manufacturing practice. Also, keeps any dyes/pigments and fragrance from getting on hands. Full strength fragrance oils should not be applied to skin and wearing gloves ensures this doesn't happen.

  • Using the plastic baggie instead of mixing in a bowl is a great tip. Thanks!

  • Fades over time.

    So you can still use food coloring.Though i don't i use a special dye that was made for coloring soaps and such
