There are many places around the world where cellphone lovers have no access to Apple's iPhone.

Apple has dragged its heels with getting the iPhone to countries like Canada and the mobile smart phone market is taking notice, and competitors and trying to poach Apple's potential business.

Case in point: the HTC Touch. The smartphone launched recently in Canada through Telus is also reportedly arriving in the U.S. in the fourth quarter of this year.

The "Touch" phone is made by High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), a company that has been in business since 1997 designing smartphones and PDAs for many other companies. They're trying to stand out on their own now, and they're going right for Apple's core business.

In this episode of Digital Journal TV, we look at a device that looks like an iPhone, works like an iPhone and is already being dubbed the "iPhone killer" in markets starving for this type of technology.

  • i can agree that guy just suck also Touch 2 is coming.

  • yeh !

  • yea jetgirl is right , just slip off the back casing and the side panel slips reight off :P

  • If you're going to post a review, you might want to read the instructional manual of the device you're reviewing. That way, you wouldn't be using a screwdriver to open the SD card slot.

Take the battery cover off first then it's quite easy to open the SD card slot.

  • long live the iphone that will never compare to it

  • iphone os/third party apps > HTC ugh?? ;)

and trust me the iphone apps are absolutely amazing!!!

  • I've had my HTC since the beginning. I took it to Romania, bought a chip it worked... It has worked where others didn't. It is tough. It has contacts, schedules, notes and more. I play games, music and movies. It works with the 4 gig card. I used it in Romania, the Ukraine, Greece, Spain... It has a backup that allows you to protect your data . Oh yeah and when one battery dies you can toss in a new one... try that with an IPhone. Iphones are for tools, the touch is a tool. Battery cost $4 USD.

  • LOL, ya you're right stick to the iPhone it'll be less stress on your brain.... Running a device with a Real Operating System takes a special breed. But by chance if you wanted to dable in a phone that is basically your PC in a pocket, run a Windows Mobile Device ! ! ! ! They do all the iphone can do but with the flexability of doing everything else your PC can..........

  • i tried using one and it was so complicated. i didnt know how to do anything on it. when i got my iphone, i instntky knew how everthing worked. windows sucks
