This computer generated orrery can be configured to show how any object in the solar system can be considered to be the centre of the system. It is all relative. What you are seeing here is effectively the Geocentric system devised by Tycho Brahe where the sun orbits the earth and the planets orbit the sun. Notice the retrograde motion of Mars.
To replicate this for yourself follow these instructions
http://www.cuug.ab.ca/kmcclary/ORRERY/fastsolar.html

1. Destroy Nemesis and the outer planets.
2. Centre to Earth.
3. You might need to scale the planets by clicking and dragging. (experiment a bit to get this right)
4. Press Play.

  • It is true. In any closed system (the universe is a closed system, it is finite) any point can be fixed as a reference point. All laws of physics remain unchanged and everything continues the same as it has. It's a matter of perspective. That being the case, it seems more likely God is telling the truth when he says the earth is on foundations and does not move. That also much better explains atmospheric behaviour and other things such as Coriolis effect being not just "apparent" but REAL.

  • Very cool thanks for sharing.
