I haven't yet played this version of 'SpikeOut,' but it seems the timing for the charge attacks & the juggling/off-the-ground combos in this game ('Final Edition'), seem to be a bit more forgiving than in 'Battle Street.'
Spikeout BS - The enemy is "Auto adjusted" when you do a down attack. You cannot adjust how you faces the enemy when the enemy is falling down from the air.
Spikeout FE is different, you can adjust your character standing position. (Let's look at how he moves little step to adjust his position during the combos.
For example
Spikeout Battle St - If you do a down attack from the enemy's left hand side (90angles), the enemy would fall in front of you. His body is auto adjusted on the air. The enemy's legs point toward to you when he is completely on the ground. Both charcters line up a straight line.
Spikeout FE - If you do a down attack from the enemy's left hand side (90angles), the enemy would fall it sideway. His body wouldn't be auto adjusted on the air. The enemy's legs point toward to your left hand side when he is completely on the ground. Both characters line up like a T.
By the way, jumping kick is also much more powerful in FE version.

Good combos, though! Can't complain!
