Unfortunately this Unnamed Love is being spoiled by this nowday claims of sexual disorder. I point at so called gay movements as their opposites in a well served play of reciprocal lack of real sensibility on the matter.

I always remember seeing this film for the first time, I watched it with my sister and mother. My father came into the room and was huffing and puffing and tutting, he was rather old-fashioned unlike our mother who was pretty broad-minded. Peter Finch was a superb Oscar Wilde. Great Post.

This is the best reciting of this poem I've ever heard! And that is coming from the prosecutor! Thank you for posting!

Peter Finch is great here. It took some balls for a leading actor to play a sympathetic gay character back in 1960 seven years before homosexuality was decriminalized in the UK.

This was a challenging film , even for the 1960..

This is my favourite scene. And my favourite ever poem...

Wonderful, true, heart -felt performance by Finch. Wilde A flawed genius and a tortured soul.
Been having trouble posting a comment here, especially a reply to LuborFiedler. You can find the film at TMC's website. It's not a very good DVD release. Looks like some small distributor picked it up, maybe after copyright expiration or something.
Either way, it is available on DVD.
