@cookdandbombd - http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk - An edit of the Chris Morris Radio 1 show from the 6th of July 1994, where Chris Morris announced that he would let listeners know if there was any news of the death of Michael Heseltine. Although it's widely reported that Morris announced his death, there is a certain amount of skirting around with semantics there, as Morris continues to point out in interviews to this day. During the chat with Bruce Foxton he does point out that Heseltine "hit the ground screaming", but shies away from confirming whether it was because of another heart attack.
What I've left out: The Heseltine incident is largely confined to the start of this show, although Morris does again play Heseltine speeches over some of the songs later on. Then, to close the show, he thanks the contributors and producer, and repeats again "...you can rest assured that if there IS any news of the death of Michael Heseltine in the next hour, well let you know." I've left this out, for the purposes of making a neat, self-contained clip. However, you can hear the full show at http://chilled.cream.org. Thanks to Louis Barfe for the new, remastered encode of this episode. A notorious piece of British comedy, which has been attached to Chris Morris' resume ever since it went out, and which earned him a suspension from Radio 1 at the time.

What is the song at the very end of this? The one which goes "everybody, get fat, on cream"...

@chrisquailecomedy Not sure what the music is, sounds like Opus III or something of that ilk. I imagine it's a song Morris pulled a loop from, although he could have came up with it himself. It's Michael Alexander St John saying "everybody get fat on cream" over it - he would voice jingles like that for Morris, collaborated with him at GLR/Radio Bristol, and would go on to appear in The Day Today, and in the Club News segments of Blue Jam. A great talent, who added much to CM's material.
