Traktor + my new Novation Nocturn = Minimal Techno Mix

Hi mates,

i've been off for a while because i had to study a lot, but now since i've finished my exams i'm gonna be way more active here in youtube, so wait for more material to be uploaded here.

I got a novation nocturn even if its smaller than the x-session, because its more versatile and it works really good for music production. It has a great software that makes things easier and faster (things like controlling vsts, etc).
Its a pitty that the software (which is a bit buggy) doesnt work on ableton live and traktor, so i have to use normal midi protocol. Its still possible to flip through pages and have different functions assigned but its not as versatile and (at least in traktor) communication is not bidirectional.

Anyways its a great piece of hardware, and its REALLY CHEAP !! I payed for it like 150 - 200 dollars in Buenos Aires, but in Europe its about 100 euro.

So after like 6 months of inactivity i came up with this new mix, not the best thing, but i think it was pretty nice considering im a newbie with this new controller and with traktor pro.

Hey fermixx, do you prefer the novation nocturn or x session pro for djing?

@swiftninja1337 if it's going to be your only equipment, i'd go for the x-session because of the faders. If you are going to be controlling several things (probably with another controller aside) this is far better. More buttons and the ability to scroll through pages makes it more powerful.

i have broblem of nocturn. im newbie to handle midi controllers i get it today and install programm and when i put into usb it says unknown program. didnt find usb drivers. plz help me!!!

@bobbyyh00 dude go to the novation website and download automap 3.5 , by any means use the software that comes with the cd because it sucks !

nice set man! can you tell me plese if the knob leds matches with effect parameters when you change between the effects, for exemple, i have my effects pre-stored if i change an effect that has dry/wet 50% to another that has 80% will the knob leds match that change? thank you

@mellamanclandestino it should. however i couldnt make traktor to send midi out. in live i could so everytime something changes on software (live for example) it changes on hardware.

it should work like that in traktor, but for some reason midi out was not working in my first attempt. however i didnt research because it was no problem for me, but im sure it has to be fix-able

It works with send midi out. (knobs must have different point value in automap like 86 to work better)

yes, but I've tried that and it tends to make traktor unestable (the only times it crashed, was when i tried to use faders or knobs for list scrolling)
