speaking of Paula, her reviews of Archie's performances were totally scripted and you can tell. Remember this was the season where that blew up in her face. Archie(and others) could've benefited from some real feedback. They always let him slide by. Randy was always like "you da bomb!", Paula read from a script and Simon looked like he'd always rather be out cashing his paycheck.

What an awful intro by Webber. He may have had a point but it totally put David on the spot. How many people were watching his eyes rather than listen to his interpretation of the song. This was one of those weeks though where David should've picked an uptempo number. He totally pulled off Shop Around and looked completely comfortable and confident(watch his eyes in that video!) but after that he seemed to clam up. The more attention he got the more nervous he got I think.

David Archuleta was, by far, the most talented contestant in this ummm, dare I say "singing contest" and he should have won. This performance is just more proof of that. This is my favorite of any version of this song that I have heard before or since, but wait, that's right, american Idol is not a singing contest, it is a popularity contest.... The most talented doesn't ever matter or ever win... GO DAVID AND ADAM!!!
