Just a quick comparison of Roland TD-12´s internal sounds and Superior Drummer 2.0 triggered via Midi. I´m using a Focusrite Saffire Interface and a Macbook Pro running Logic Audio 9 and SD2 as a plugin. E-Drums by Roland, Hart Dynamics and Drum-Tec. Needless to say that I was blown away right from the start triggering sample libraries with e-drums, the possibilities you have are quite limitless.

  • Can you get a choke on cymbals via Superior? I am not able to on td10.

  • @rhapsodicXXX Hey there! Yes, it´s possible, it can be done inside of SD. Just google "cymbal choking superior drummer" and you should find some forum posts on that. Maybe I will make a video on in in the future too, but unfortunately I´m rather busy with work right now... Regards, Rob

  • I heard the TD-9 2.0 is MUCH closer to the real thing for its internal samples.you can load V-Expressions to sound more realistic. I own both EZDrummer and SD2.x, and I have a heck of a time getting the sounds I want with an entry level Alesis USB Pro with Surge Cymbals kit with the Alesis I/O into my mac. dynamics are completely vacant. now I'm all TD-8 and Roland rubber and mesh pads, but carrying a notebook on tour isn't what I was planning to do as that's what the attached module was for :(

  • @DJFMasters3 Hey there! Yes I know, it´s a shame. Still there is no e-drum module on the market, that is able to do what you can do with computer based sample sounds. Although it wouldn´t be a too big problem technically I suppose :) But that´s for Roland to develop, let´s hope they will come with something one day soon! Regards, R

  • Can anyone tell me if its possible to have a live feed via headphone or speakers with the SD2 software running? Or is it only really available post production?

  • @d4ni5h Hey there, you can have low latency monitoring if your audio interface is able to handle the necessary information in time. Then you can play live as with a module.Regards, R
