  • best thing you can do is use SYNTHETIC oil after the intial break-in, also run generator about every 3 moths for about 20 minutes UNDER A LOAD, usually a small electric heater plugged into it works best (at least for me) , then turn off gas valve and let carb run dry of fuel,

  • Has anyone ever attempted to weld a car muffler on a generator such as this and did it last long? I guess you could put it in a shed with a solar vent too.

  • Actually, more videos regarding generator maintenance should be posted on Youtube.

RJSteed's vid may not be perfect, but at least the subject is addressed.

There are probably thousands of gensets in this country that are gathering dust in the garage or shed. How many have gunked up carbs or have lost their magnetism due to a lack of use???

    Thanks for posting!

  • the funniest thing is it just sits, and won't run right (or at all) when it comes time to use it, usually since the carb is all gunked up, or some other issue.
