Happy memories here.. Back in the 70s I used to swim here and I remember the great fountains that were inside the lido. It's a shame it was closed down

@merlimax The fountains are still there, I forgot to point out that one can be seen in this video. They are under restoration, last time I was there they were undercover.

as a relatively new resident to the area (moved from central london in 2008) i love the old buildings and learning about the history of the town. so living close to the park i would love to see the Lido reopened.

after google-ing about the barking park lido this is the only video iv come across.

any chance of lettin me know what the latest is on the Lido's project? a response would be fantastic.

Thanks for doing these videos. I found them recently and now check in regularly to see if there are any more. I grew up in Barking in the 70s and used to spend the majority of the summer holidays in the park and lido. I hope the renovations do justice to a great facility.

@rippleway . It's good to know they are going to keep the fountains . I was back in barking 2 weeks ago and I can't believe how different it is. Perhaps I'm stuck in the 70s and 80s but I'm not keen on what they have done to our once glorious town.
