Click my name to view my other vidoes, this crossing is finished!

A short clip of my under construction model railroad. The signals are the new Walthers ones along with the Walthers controller. The signal is temporary until I get the roads and crossing put in. I have a pair of Tomar crossing gates that will be going in there.

  • Very nice... was wondering how those looked when hooked up. Nice job!

  • check out my newer videos for even better views

  • Wow, these are awesome. I love how the controller makes the LEDs seem like the old-style bulbs when the traffic lights change color.

  • actually is just my camera that doesn't have the best quality, the actual signals are obvious that they are LED

  • Next innovation for model railroads? Traffic Signals that work with the railroad signals and go on limited sequence when a train comes. For example, the red light for the main road crossing the track stays red as long as the RR crossing is flashing.

Cool intersection and almost perfect timing of the red light before the train got there!:)

  • Pretty cool but in real life, the traffic signals would change to all red for a brief period then the crossing signals would activate. We have a few like that were I work, and if you do anything less than 10 mph to the crossing, you basically have to stop the train right at the edge of it until the gates come down. Its sucks the way some are set up.

  • very nice. I have most of those signals - yet to install!

  • Just a thought, Is there anyway to get the stop lights to flash RED when the cross buck goes off?

  • very nice animation

  • @jjmalcak a few logic gates and a 555 pulse timer and that would be a piece of cake, I agree, they should all be red when train is crossing.

  • @Mudimush The light can be green for the cross street, because traffic approaching the crossing can still turn left or right onto the street parallel to the tracks. Of course, if that's the case, and there is no protected left turn sequence, it would make more sense to have the signal flash yellow for the parallel street and flash red for the cross street (or if the cross street has enough traffic demand, an all red flash).

  • If you got all the stop lights to flash red while a train went over the crossing, that'd be bad ass..... I see that all the time.

  • how do you get this?
