This is my first near completed attempt at a low-poly video game model. Took me about 2 hours to get 30 minutes into the video tutorial I was following, lol. But I'm pleased with it, I just really didn't care to go for the hands or head yet, but I might still. So basically what I have here is a suit that a person might go into in some game. It could look worse for my first attempt I suppose.

I've gotten a lot of response about this, from people who would like to create their own character, but many seem to know nothing of the environment they are working with. So, I will be creating soon a series of character modelling tutorials aimed as much towards the begining artist as possible. Look forward to it.

  • mmm imagine that with a nice subsurf

  • @Pabloko09 Actually, I recall it looking pretty bad with subsurf which is why I stuck to the low-poly. Higher res would have required more detail that I definitely wasn't good at at the time. It's funny looking back at stuff like this (this was before I started school for Game Design) and thinking how proud I was of it and how bad it looks to me now. Though I still think my overall topology was good I know many ways to optimize and push the detail with the same poly count now.

  • Good model. Looking forward to see you get more done with it.

  • @masterxeon1001 This is an old old model that was just a practice expirement, one done well before I started school for video game design. I'm working on gathering all my work and working on new stuff to develop my online portfolio which will be posted on a new channel (DeviantGerman) when I get it ready, as well as videos of small game projects I'm doing.

  • Bro Please start those tutorials

  • @dEDruNkGaMeR I'm seriously attempting to get around to it. Being a full time student in a Bachelor's program makes it difficult. All the same my skills are far beyond this now and improve with every term, so it always feels like I might present something that isn't to the best of my upcoming abilities. I promise though that I am writing out a tutorial that will take a character from concept, to modeling and sculpting, to a finished game/production ready model. It will be coming though.
