On the train from Kolkata to Santiniketan. Hawkers get on at every stop to try and make a few rupees.

  • There's nothing wrong with hawkers. I'm not making any judgements, I'm just stating facts. They're just a colourful part of travelling by train in India.

  • @mrcomin

They are saying "lebu-cha", which means tea with lemon, but it is different from the lemon tea you get in some countries.

  • it is second class sitting.

  • i luv chai

  • Is it 2S, second sitting or General sitting? I have not been to India but would like to go. Thank You.

  • Is not lemon tea; it is "chai": tea preapered with milk

  • They are selling Lemon Tea.

  • but contrasting india also offers a choice to avoid hawkers. one can travel by the all a/c luxury trains in which one can sleep peacefully with no hawkers ...
