We are in the middle of a bungalow renovation at the moment....dont strip your floors rent large floor sanders...and remove any remnants of tar paper residue if any. since they are painted you should sand it...we put the second coat of poly on ours this weekend they are lovely.good luck and have fun...

Beautifully done! Ours is one year older than yours, and I have to say, yours was in better shape than ours was. All of our wood has been painted, with God knows what, right now we're so busy just trying to get the basics done, that we can't even consider stripping the wood yet!
