  • Hay Dorry & Sommer

I wish you would do it again with your backs to the camera

    showing both roles...

  • @Ichien123 The song is "Blue Skies" but I'm not sure who does it.

  • what is the title of the music you are using?

  • can I ask??? What is the title of your music??

  • @dancinweb I believe you, I'm just saying that it's not used in the swing dance community any more. We moved passed it by learning from the originators of swing dance, like Frankie Manning.

  • Double time is not twice the tempo! The tempo is a about 130 - 145 beats per minute. Double time is an actual dance The Double time swing is a legal East Coast Swing. I learned it over 25 years ago. I don't teach Double time swing, but I do use it for steps where you don't put all your weight on a single time swing step.

If you don't believe me do a search on "double time east coast swing" I had links to the first three that came up, but it won't let me post them.

  • @dancinweb Yeah, bout "double time" actually means dancing twice the tempo, so I'm merely saying that calling it single, double, or triple "time" doesn't make sense.

And again, the tap step is really still single step, because you aren't changing weight.

  • Conktinuation of comment below:

I don't teach it, nor do I use it as my main dance step, but Double Time Swing is one of the East Coast Swing dances.

  • They are all 6 count swings. I was taught that there are 3 types of east coast swing.

Triple is slow (within two beats of music) Slow ( another triple within two beats of music and a rock step.

A double is a tap step (slow) another tap step (slow) and a rock step

Single time is step(slow) step(slow) and a rock step.

The double can be used as a synchronization within a single time swing step. I use it all the time - but you can do the tap step as a double time swing step.

  • @lindyhop411 compare than some of world stars jive or their teaching video with this
