This is Dollywood's new production which has been produced to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Smoky Mountains National Park.

Some of the stars of the show are Kellye Pritchett who plays the "Granny", Drew Slice plays the "Father", Arnie Shaw plays the "Spirit of the Wind", Jonathan East plays James McMann, McKenzie Roberts shares the role of the little girl with three other girls, and then Brooke Cenicola who I don't think has a character description that I know of. And some of the acrobats are: Angela Butch, Jessica Krueger, Jake Turner, Clayton Reavis, Michael Reavis. and staring Scott Self as "the storyteller". Please comment if you know others seen here so that I can list them as well.

The show features 8 songs which were written for this production by Dolly Parton. The show was directed by John Dietrich. You can see a full recording that I made of the show in June on my Dollywoodshows youtube sight. I feel you should try to get to the park to see the full event! This showing was special as it was the first time it was shown as far as I know and was a special press viewing of the production. The full show runs about 40 minutes. Dolly comes out after the clips end and talks some about the show and sings one of the songs as she recorded it on her own CD which can be found at Dollywood.

I want to give a special thank you to a friend of mine who is Andy Rodgers. Andy was at this event and recorded the show and sent a copy to myself to share with everyone in this way.
Just so you know Dollywood has granted me permission to post on youtube the shows that are produced by the park.

I hope you enjoy this video I have shared and I hope you will make your way to Dollywood to see the full production. This is just one of the many great shows at the park. Dollywood will be running this event till the end of October and is open most days even in the spring and fall as well! (most of the cast listed is thanks to coconutUPbutt. She sent me the information listed)

  • @ruaho99 I so agree, Scott is such a warm and caring person. Dollywood has such a talent in him and I am sure they know that. if you enjoy this video you can see the full show recording on my dollywoodshows sight. Thanks as always for the comments everyone!! Bill

  • What's the name of the CD that has this and the song She Kon O Hey on it, I would love to have it.

  • @topazgirl72 The CD that Dolly put out with all the music she wrote for the show was I think under the name of Sha Kon O Hey. Anyway it is sold at Dollywood and I think you could order it direct from them if not from another dealer.

  • I posted a link to the video I made part one of the full show. Its not this great recording that you see here but one I recorded myself using my camera. Note that the full video is in 7 parts. You may rather wait to view it till you see if live! The view I made does not do that show justice but it does give you a view of it.

  • Thank you all for your great comments. I hope many may find there way to Dollywood this year to see their fantastic shows! They have so much to offer on top of great shows. Great food, Rides and crafts that can not be found at other parks. The park also has the finest staff I have ever seen at a local park. Most all of them love the park and its guests and they love their jobs. The park makes you feel like you are family. I love to place so much! Thank you Andy for the recording!
