At 33 years old, this engine was crying out for some TLC. I still needs a few new gaskets to make it ready for re-installation on my Aries-32, The Chester P, seen in the background. This is a Westerbeke 30, with a 1978 date code on the block.
Brownie, seen in here, owns a shop in Santa Ana, CA. that specializes in fiberglass rudders and keels. If he can't find a part, he'll make it, and is excellent at tooling up a project. I'm one happy owner of an old diesel. Once the gaskets arrive, we should be able to re-install this engine before the end of the year.

  • Actually, British Leyland, or Leyland Ford 1500D. The gas version of this block was used in the MGB for years... do you own one? I just paid $80 each for new glow-plugs by Bosch. The Champion AG-32's are no longer manufactured in the US... bummer man.
