@B0RN2RACE100 At leased you have proved you dont know what your talking about. The 787b, Jag v12's and the turbos had all be given notice they would be banned 2 years previous but were allowed to race 1 more year for the 1991 season. Because the 787b was so old mazda negotiated a 170kg weight advantage for the race!!! With a detuned engine to make it last and better fuel economy it tipped the balance in their favour after 13 years of loosing on a level with piston engines....
@Manoo62 the main reason why the 787b won was cuz it was more reliable than the pistons engine on a racin environment.... i wouldnt want one for grocery shoppin but for the weekend, yes... roatries were vanned from lemans cuz piston engines couldnt compete with then...
@B0RN2RACE100 As usual with you rotary fanboys you dont know anything about rotary's. Who mentioned reliability?? the Norton never had any issues. They are mechanically crap and will never be able to compete with piston engines which is why they have gone nowhere in the last 60 years. Engineers are well aware of their sevier limitations. How many races have rotary's EVER won? and when was the last time? divvy.
ok.. so we have two things clear... u dont like rotaries and u dont know gramar(jk typo)... ferdinand porshe said once: the perfect racecar should cross the line first then fall into pieces... rotaries can doo both of those things noo discussion bout it... "crap" doesnt really describe then, needy.. maybe... we're gettin no where here, why u researchin n waistin energy on somethin u dislike for no gain at all... das masochism XD XD XD
@B0RN2RACE100 Yeh thats one bike!!! hardly a runaway success. There is a very good reason why rotary engines are not used in ANY mainstream applications - there crap.
@Manoo62 it can be a spacebike is still in a bike... i dont know much bout bike but i think this bike had the same problem as the 787b... too cool for school
@eamh2002 I dont suppose you ever thought why NO ONE other than Mazda has bothered with rotary's?? If they are so fantastic everyone would be using them right?
I'll give you a clue the rx8 is actually a 3.9L engine only produces 225bhp but drinks fuel like a V8.
The 1.3L claim is just a marketing ploy to make the engine sound impressive because actually its not.
Their only advantage is power to weight but they still havent bothered to put them in bikes.
