Gammal fäbodpsalm - Katarina Pilotti

Soprano Katarina Pilotti in an inpromptu performance of the very popular Swedish organ piece "Gammal fäbodpsalm från Dalarna" (Old pastoral hymn from Dalarna). This piece, written in 1936 by Oskar Lindberg, is often sung either a cappella, or by choir, flute and soprano. The recording was made with a Zoom H2 in the empty church of Glanshammar, Sweden.

Quite beautiful, I would just like to add to the description that as it is a hymn it´s also usually performed on the organ and that there are lyrics for it allthough I don´t think I´ve actually ever heard them sung.

Thanks, you're right. There is also quite a beautiful and popular arrangement for choir, recorder and soprano by Anders Öhrwall. Practically all Swedish choirs sing it on occasion. I've heard the written lyrics sung perhaps once in my life.

Yes, Benny played this song as an introduction to their 1979 concerts, although the only way to hear it in full is through bootlegs.
