My ASM (Advanced Scale Models) C-130 Hercules in Coast Guard Scheme. Flying on January 30, 2011.

I didnt quite realize it, but at full throttle, the right inboard motor quit. It caused the plane to yaw right, but I was already committed to take off. What a flight! Amazingly, it was flying fairly well with only 3 engines running. I know for sure it would have been a different story had the outboard motor quit instead of the inboard.

  • Robert, you mention FPV Goggle systems. I would love to try something like this with my model ship but I have no idea how they work. Where do I look to get them? Any help is appreciated.

  • @formerparatrooper : Look on Hobby-Lobby Website. Or HobbyKing website. These places sell inexpensive all in one units. Otherwise, you can spend a fortune and get some really nice stuff at other sites. Google for more. ~~Robert.

  • top speed?please answer

  • @Rendall98 : Clocked this one at 131mph. ~~Robert.

  • how far does the remote control signal reach up to?

  • @lerto89 : It can reach for a few miles, much further than you could see. I've used FPV Goggle systems with onboard camera and been able to fly 1 1/2 miles away before I turned back. Quality Transmitters and Receivers are the key to confidence in control. Thanks ~~Robert.

  • Nice save there Beautiful Plane by the way! And what would be the Scale speed Mach 2.1? just joking very nice model. =)

  • @RCRedBaron Ta mate, I appreciate the help. I think it would be great to be able to see what my ship is doing from the deck and especially if that can also be recorded at the same time.

  • Wow a great landing, the scale speed at touch down must have been 300+ mph!!

  • Nice RC. I bet it cost a fortune.

  • Will this take me to mars?
